Social Activities Afterglow An afterglow party for singers and their guests is usually held after one of a series of Master Chorale concerts. Afterglows take place in various area restaurants and usually include dinner (everyone is responsible for their own check). Afterglows are a "sign-up and show-up" activity so that we can tell the restaurant in advance how many people to expect. Watch for an announcement about our next afterglow during the week of our next performance. We currently need volunteers to organize to organize the Afterglows. If anyone is interested, please contact our office. Roundup (our end-of-year celebration) The Chorale does not have enough funds to sponsor Roundup for the 2008-2009 season. If the Chorale finds itself in the financial position to support this event at the end of the season, it may still happen. Typically this is what Roundup is: At the close of each concert season, The Master Chorale Board of Directors sponsors a dinner and awards program at J. B. Starkey's ranch in Odessa. There is music, dinner, drinks, s'mores, hayrides and great company. Singers are also encouraged to bring a dessert. This event is a good chance to get to know your fellow singers outside of rehearsals and a great way to end our concert season. Roundup is a gathering for Master Chorale members and their close friends and family. While family is welcome, please no small children. The ranch is a large property and we cannot accept responsibility or provide supervision for the little ones. This is an RSVP event announcements for which are made towards the end of our concert season. |
