Kari Hamada
Graduate Conducting Apprentice

Kari Hamada is our Graduate Conducting Apprentice this year. She is a graduate student pursuing her Master’s degree in Choral Conducting at the University of South Florida. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education also from the University of South Florida where she studied with Richard Zielinski, Robert Summer, Lynne Gackle and Warren Jaworski. 

Kari was a teacher in Hillsborough County during the 2007-2008 year. She taught general music, chorus, orff and guitar and brought several of her students to the Fine Arts Festival in 2008. Kari has also taught private voice and piano lessons for years at various music schools. Kari worked alongside Averill Summer and Barbara Woellner with the Tampa Bay Children’s    Chorus by leading rehearsals, conducting in concerts and touring with them to Canada. Kari is now a member of the Music Educator’s National Conference and also the American Choral  Director’s Association. 

Kari’s artistic experiences have included singing with the Tampa Opera, Con Amore which is a 12 voice women’s ensemble, Tampa Bay’s only professional chorus, The Richard Zielinski Singers and is proud to be a member of The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay for her 5^th year. Kari has also traveled to Chorale Festival’s all over the world including Choral Music Experience (Scotland), In Terra Pax (Poland) and The Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt Austria over the past two summers.
