The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay under the direction of Dr. James K. Bass, performed with The Cleveland Orchestra, one of the most prestigious ensembles in the world this past weekend.  The Chorale traveled to Miami for three performances of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts on March 14, 15, and 16, 2013 under the direction of Giancarlo Guerrero of The Cleveland Orchestra (Friday and Saturday night shows were sold out).  Saturday night's concert was broadcast live on WCLV 104.9 Classical FM in Cleveland and will be broadcast again on April 21.  After April 21 the recording will be put on their On Demand page for two weeks.

The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay joined forces with The Master Chorale of South Florida for these performances, totaling 200 singers in the chorus.  Performances on March 15 and 16 featured an a cappella prelude concert at 7:00pm by The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, sponsored by the Moffitt Cancer Center.

"We are delighted with the invitation and opportunity to travel and perform with one of the most highly regarded Orchestras in our nation," Bass noted. “Preparing an a cappella performance for two of the Orchestra’s traditional prelude concerts is an honor.”

The Master Chorale has been preparing for these performances since late last fall.  “We are proud to represent the Tampa Bay community in this wonderful collaboration of great music” added Robert Hicks, Chairman of The Master Chorale Board of Trustees.
