The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay’s (MCTB) Student Apprentice Program is an opportunity for high school students to join The Master Chorale and The Florida Orchestra in a performance of a choral/orchestral masterwork. This year, student apprentices will be studying and rehearsing Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem with MCTB’s Artistic Director, Matthew Abernathy, before performing under the baton of The Florida Orchestra’s Resident Conductor, Chelsea Gallo.

In this rare opportunity to sing with a 130-voice symphony chorus and professional orchestra, student apprentices will experience professional-level artistry and the careful planning, collaboration, and execution of a concert program. The cohort of accepted students will comprise dedicated young musicians who are motivated to pursue a life of music making.

Accepted participants will join MCTB for eight independent rehearsals to learn the music before participating in two rehearsals and three performances with The Florida Orchestra.

It is the student’s responsibility to secure transportation to all events. Once present, the cohort will be lead and monitored by an educational professional.

Applications will be accepted through February 16th.
